John Deere has used Cereals to showcase a major package of machinery updates, including a new flagship 500R self-propelled sprayer, revised 6M and 6R tractors, updated 8R, 8RT and 8RX models, and new front loaders for large 6R tractors.

A headline launch is the new John Deere 560R, expanding the 500R self-propelled sprayer range into the 6,000-litre class. Designed for large arable farms and professional spraying operations, the model is aimed at operators working in tight application windows who need to cover more hectares per day with fewer filling stops.

The MY27 500R range also introduces a new-generation spray boom portfolio with working widths of 30m, 36m and 42m, while retaining a compact 2.55m transport width. BoomTrac Pro 2 automatic boom height control, active boom yaw and roll control, Individual Nozzle Control Pro and ExactApply are designed to improve application accuracy, stability and productivity.

John Deere says the updated 500R series offers a 10-15% productivity gain compared with the previous model.

The company has also announced updates to its 6M tractor series, including a revised cab layout, a unified operating concept across tractor ranges, expanded precision agriculture functions and a new e19 full powershift transmission on most six-cylinder models up to the 6M 250.

The new transmission is designed to deliver smooth, uninterrupted gear changes, with John Deere stating it can provide up to 5% productivity improvements and up to 5% lower fuel consumption compared with CommandQuad Plus.

The updated 6R Large and Xtra Large Frame tractors also bring improvements in road transport behaviour, cab comfort, precision farming and serviceability. The range includes the 6R 180, 6R 200, 6R 220, 6R 240, 6R 230 and 6R 260, with outputs up to 305hp with Intelligent Power Management.

Key upgrades include the CommandView 4 cab, Sport Package Pro, adaptive suspension, improved steering and braking, precision farming hardware and longer service intervals.

For higher horsepower operations, John Deere has introduced updated 8R, 8RT and 8RX tractors in the 280-410hp segment. The tractors feature enhanced cab comfort, improved drivetrain efficiency, advanced precision farming capability and are prepared for future autonomy technology.

The 8R 410 is designed to deliver strong drawbar performance for heavy draft work, while the CommandView 4 cab adds features such as soft-close door technology, push-button start, wireless phone charging and improved controls.

John Deere has also expanded its loader offering with the new 665R and 685R front loaders for Large and Xtra Large frame 6R tractors. The loaders include improved visibility, revised geometry for better rollback angle and reduced spillage, and options such as dynamic weighing, Level to Horizon and Return to Position.

Visitors to Cereals can see the latest John Deere machinery and technology on display across the event.
